I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying the A to Z Challenge - especially because I've come across some really lovely clothes and styles that I would have otherwise not known about.
J is for jeans. They're a wardrobe staple for basically everyone and come in so many styles, shapes and colours it's hard to know where to start! I haven't been particularly adventurous when buying jeans in the past but the current trend for coloured denim is tempting me to branch out.
Here are some styles that I like at the moment.

I love a bootcut jean. These, along with flares, look great on gals with long legs as they add shape to the body. Skinny jeans work for basically all body shapes as long as they fit well. Dark colours look great on a curvy lass if you've got a Kate Winslet-esque derrier, as lighter washes of denim can tend to highlight slightly unfavourable areas. High-waisted styles are making a big comeback at the moment as well. These will cut off your torso a bit though so if you're well endowed up top they can make you look a bit unbalanced.

Make sure you shop around to find a brand that suits you and fits well, because there's nothing more disappointing than taking home a pair, wearing them a couple of times and then deciding that they don't actually fit properly.

Also, don't be afraid to ask the shop attendants about whether they're likely to stretch or not. I bought a lovely pair of Ted Baker jeans several years ago in London but didn't ask whether they would stretch, and now I have to wash them every time I wear them just to make sure they sort of fit. It's very disappointing!
I'd love to hear about your favourite jeans! Have you joined the coloured-jean brigade since the trend hit? What styles to you find the most flattering?

Jeans are my favourite. I would live in them if I could. I'm really not a fan of the high-waisted ones though. I can't think of anyone they look flattering on. They always make people's hips look chunky, even if they don't have chunky hips.
